This project was going to address the problem of low light and no place to hang one's coat in our hallwall. My goal was to refrain from buying anything because I already have too much scrap wood.

Here're the supplies I had with after I've cut things up a bit. Okay, I had to buy one thing. I'm making the lamp shade out of one of those circular tomato growing rack thingies. This one cost me 45 cents.

I'm making the lamp shade out of individual loops of twine wrap round a section of gold painted tomato growing rack.

Here's the front shown without the lamp shade.
